Draft after draft, the device industry was no longer waiting for them; but finally, the common specifications ended up being adopted on October 13, 2022.
Some good news, no changes to the general text which is identical to the July version. In the annexes, only one modification has been made in annex VI (5.2 concerning wavelength ranges).
The only significant change is the decision to reclassify to a higher level of risk 3 types of devices (Equipment emitting high-intensity electromagnetic radiation used in dermatology (appendix VI of
the common specifications), destruction of adipose tissue (appendix V) and device brain stimulation (appendix VII).
But be careful, adoption does not mean publication, we will still have to be patient to reach the holy grail of publication. Then, it will still be necessary to wait twenty days before they are in effect.
